Disney Emoji Blitz is a popular free-to-play mobile match-3 puzzle game featuring stylized emojis from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars. Players clear boards, unlock hundreds of collectible characters—each with unique power-ups—and earn rewards by completing missions and time-limited events.

I have been working on Jam City’s Disney Emoji Blitz since September 2019. I was initially hired as an Associate Artist in an effort to build up the development team to support the game’s growth. Now, almost 7 years later, as a Senior Artist on the game I help oversee all of the new artwork, ranging from character designs to in game event assets, providing feedback & reviews to the art team in order to maintain a consistent art style.

I couldn’t begin to cover every art asset that I’ve touched over the last 7 years, but here is a small sample of some of my best work!

Emoji Character Art

Select emoji character art from over the years. As a huge Star Wars fan, I frequently volunteered to create the Star Wars characters that were selected to be added to the game.

Every emoji design came with 7 additional “expressions” that were used in animations and in gameplay to give every character more personality.

Emoji Prop Art

Examples of various emoji “props” that I created for our Item Card events, where players would collect IP themed prop emoji on the game board to progress in limited time events.

Pin Collection UI Art

The Pin Collection feature opened up a new way for players to collect, through unlocking digital Disney enamel pins. It was introduced to the game as a way to drive player engagement, retention, and increase revenue. I was responsible for creating a new HUD element on the home screen, as well as the collection set view, where players are able to view the pins they’ve collected. Once the feature was live, I also helped to streamline the pin creation process in order to significantly cut down on production time.

The Pin Collection feature was a collaboration between myself, and artists Alex Fitzgerald & Phoebe Brown.

Event Maps

Most of the limited time events in the game featured a user interface with what we called “maps”. I was responsible for most of the Star Wars themed maps that centered around iconic Star Wars villains.
